This is a highly interactive and fluid workshop where we explore the application and design options of applying a variety of media to a range of fabrics, and demonstrate how to do Sashiko stitching. We will introduce each technique and then you work on those that interest you – one or all of them. We will doodle, zen tangle, paint, draw, color, and stitch our way to a wonderful textile in our workshop using many mediums, stencils, and transfers.
Your favorite textile can then be assembled and folded into any one of fourteen designs created by Nancy Shriber and presented in her book, Sashiko Handbags. Your workshop kit includes a variety of fabrics in 14″ squares, along with binding and lining for an origami style handbag.
Watch for new dates in 2018 for this workshop!
