This series is so much fun. We are using Shae Henderson’s textbook, School of Sewing, as our inspiration to walk your group through a series of projects that introduce and build on your body of sewing knowledge – and you’ll have great small projects to take home! In the sessions, we cover information such as a review on basic use of your sewing machines, standard sewing tools, and sewing fundamentals, which are reinforced with each class.
We use a portfolio of small projects that introduce sewing techniques and build on sewing skills as we
progress through them so over time beginners can sew independently. Those of you who have sewing experience will enjoy the projects and reinforce your skill sets as well. While it is recommended beginners follow the series order to build sewing knowledge, experienced groups may prefer to select their sessions by project.
Each session concentrates on completing a non-garment sewing project and includes a kit. (Watch for our
garmentfocused series as well.) All sessions include kits for your projects. Please bring along your sewing machine and a basic sewing kit*. We’ll have extra items you may need on our Tabletop Market in case you find you’re missing something along the way.
We plan tables for sewing, cutting, constructing, and collaborating, along with ironing stations, and our Tabletop Market! Gather your group, select your projects and a venue, and let’s start sewing!
Classes are 3 hours each. Maximum group size is 10. You can select one, several, or all of the projects in our School of Sewing Series for your group.
